Remember to live each day the best you can as fully as you can. Take a moment each day, no matter how busy to appreciate your favorite people. No matter how long you live, it will never be enough time to appreciate this moment, right now.

Hatred is not clouded judgment. It is final judgment. It is a statement of complete certitude that no understanding can exist between the hater and the person being judged. It evokes the darkest primal emotions as a survival response necessary for the confrontation of an enemy. There can be no further negotiation, no reasoned argument, no dialogue.
When hatred becomes the current state of politics as narrated by the media society is pricked with its sinuous poison. It is a mortal trap. The enemy of hatred is compassion and rational thought. When compassion is ridiculed, when facts are mocked, the first question should always be why? Who stands to gain? If a person is the prisoner of hatred there can be no questions. Words, particularly venerable words hold great power. Words inspire. Words cast the mind in directions it may otherwise never travel. Words are primal, but symbolic. Therefore words can seek truth but never be truth and therein lies the danger.
It is pointless to quote from any source of words no matter how emotionally attached you've become. The audacity of conviction in symbolic meaning is ludicrous. Any kernel of wisdom we seek in the world of words is bound to the good deeds they inspire. The same words can bring peace or destruction. When all has turned to sand and even stoic Time bows aged and crumbles all will be as it began.
Turn off the television, the smart phone or computer. Step outside. Forget the world. Dream and let time stop. Experience something new. Observe. Observe. Observe. A leaf in the wind is transcendent, feel it in your mind. Why wouldn't you?
She invoked these will-o'-the-wisps from the ether at Hyde Park. The bubble ballet danced and morphed into dinosaurs and dragons that the children delighted in, even more so because their parents could not see them.
Never be the first to speak, the first to come to a conclusion or the first to anger. Therein lies much wisdom.
Evil exists to glorify the good. Evil is negative good. It is a relative term. Evil can be transmuted into good. What is evil to one at one time, becomes good at another time to somebody else.
--Mencius I was much more intrigued by Mengzi than Kongzi. It is important to think about topics like good and evil through learning of other cultures and different points in history. How can you know a thing if you only know your own limited viewpoint? A mirror cannot reflect the truth, only an image from one perspective. From the perspective of Mengzi the dualism of moral status is intrinsic and mutable. In my opinion this would suggest an inflexible perspective in life would put one out of harmony with the "heavens". Compassion, empathy and an open mind should be a human value, not one exclusive to one group or another. Ignorance and hatred are also part of the human experience. We decide how we want to live.
Debate is a lost art. I love using the Socratic method to talk about a topic. Being a gadfly is indeed an easy way to be unpopular. People are looking to win rather than learn. That prevents any point in the discussion. I honestly prefer to listen more than talk, although my wife will argue that point.
